Iron Hands List 1750pts

As some of you know from last night, I have a large amount of bitz to build an Iron Hands Army

I have a list below, now, I have two questions, if I was to use this in a tourney, how would it score, and do you believe it to be in line with the Iron Hands fluff

What does everyone think

And also, points scores for army selection, how does it all work?

ouch!

I like the list, it has 3 full tac squads as well as the 3 dreads and thudds.

As for scoring goes, I'm never that good on paper-comp :cry:
Yeah, well, I'm gonna go build my own theme park, with blackjack and hookers. In fact, forget the park!

FLuff wise:

You need termies and more tech marines with servitors. :mrgreen:

Comp wise:
Two thunder fire cannons will get you frowned at. 4 dreads on top will get you 1-2/5 and a death stare. (people are scared of dreads, the more of them, the more fear, the bigger the cry for cheese)

People rate comp on cheese/power gaming/beardy git o meter. Sometimes solid theme can do enough to convince the masses but there will always be someone who doesnt like your list for some reason, If you take too many toys you will get hit. If you troop spam you will get hit, too many vehicles etc etc. Then again some people are twits.

Tournie's with TO only comp or no comp are generally better to go to to have fun.

List wise:
Your pretty light on cc ability and although the dreads can tarpit a big unit of infantry, it generlly takes them out of the game as the combat takes so long to resolve. Termies with hammers and shields and the occasional set of claws will help here and still fit with your IH theme, consider dropping a dread or two to cover the costs of two squads. Cannons are bad ass and two is pretty tough, together they will give you decent firelane coverage allowing everything else to move around. Consider getting a third transport for the last tac squad.

I did consider TErmie's, however they don't fit the fluff after the Horus Heresy Novels, especially Fulgrim.

I also looked at taking less dreads, however they do fit the fluff a bit better if you take into account the reported close ties with the mechanicus, meaning better acces to forges and therefore to vehicles and the like, but, seeing as Termie armour is harder to produce (so I have read) having more dreads I believe to be more in keeping with the fluff.

I also considered using Legion of the Damned as Veterans, more becuase they have the relentless rule, which again, according to fluff is the Iron Hands trait, having a 3+ invun would represent bionics being most of a IH Veterans body, and I considered using Sternguard as well, but I kept going back to the dread idea

Will wait and see what I paint and go from there I think

In Fulgrim the morlocks (termies) are all there ready to punch on, i dont see how its out of fluff for them

I didn't think any of them survived after Ferrus led them straight up the guts and got himself killed, that was why I didn't include them

Might do a rethink anyway, will wait and see
