So I'll keep it short and sweet.
Game 1
Me VS Charles Black (Daemons)
Ok, now first off a little background, the idea at the tourny was you werent going to get matched up in the 1st round with people from the same state, considering i could count the amount of ppl from ACT on my fingers (probably one hand too) there was obviously some mistake. Not only that Charles in my regular opponent, and also designed the Wood Elf list I took to the tourny.
So needless to say, I got severely butchered and was wiped off the board by turn 4.
20/0 Loss for me.
Game 2
Me VS Phil Armour (Warriors of Chaos)
Another player I know from near my area, at least I had'nt played Phil yet so it was nice to have a new opponent. This was my first game against the new Warriors of Chaos book and definatly learned a few new things. Luckily he didnt have the dreaded Tzeentch Lvl 4 to try get off Infernal Gateway but still had a good mix of different units. The game was VERY VERY CLOSE and could of gone either way, in the end there was only a 2 VP difference and unfortuantly because DOGCON had no draws and I was down the 2 VPs I lost. This was my second favourite game of the tourny and definatly the favourite from the first day.
11/9 Loss to me (Some points on the board finally).
Game 3
Me VS Big Red (Orcs and Goblins)
Now unfortuantly for my opponent he was just restarting WFB after a couple of years off and didnt know the rules all that well, which actually ended up better for him since the game took longer and only got 5 turns. 2 things in his army scared me a bit, the Lord on the Wyvern and the massive unit of 24 Black Orcs and the 4 fanatics. As with most of my game I deploy my "expendable" dryads and eagle first to get an idea of how my opponent plans his deployment (Not having blocks of units makes it easier to adapt your deployment imo). He put most of his units near the centre with charoits and the wyvern on the side where I didnt deploy anything (which i was very glad because they needed at least 2 turns to get to me) while I overloaded the other side with wild riders and wardancers. Unfortuantly he has some bad luck with animosity and leadership tests which allowed me to run down. I also got a killing blow on his lord with wardancers and ran down the wyvern aswell. He did well but ultimately his main mistakes were his deployment and not trying to get his wyvern into my flank right away. Had this gone into turn 6 there was no doubt I would of wiped him off the board as he only had one unit left which was about the be charged on 3 sides.
18/2 Win to me
Game 4
Me VS Michael (Lizardmen)
This was interesting, he had a very combat heavy lizardman army (no slann thankfully but had a Lord with the Jag Charm, think of a alter noble that can hide in units and is on roids). This was another game that could of gone either way, both of us had good luck and bad luck, but in the end mine was worse and around turn 4 I had some very bad rolls and lost alot of points, after that I tried to save what I could but couldnt prevent the inevitable loss.
17/3 Loss to me
Game 5
Me VS Dave {I Think his name was dave....} (Tomb Kings)
This one was my favourite game of the whole tourny. I feel I played my best game in this round, I feel I made 1 big mistake which was charging my Warbanner wild rider unit into his Catapult with a lord in it without realising the Lord was Str 5, T5 with a magic weapon, They easily killed the crew but just couldnt dent that darn mummie while he easily killed 4 in return and the finished them off the next combat, In the end I had to send in my Wardancer Noble who quickly finished the job. My opponent didnt make the rest of the game easy however, his grave guard (or whatever the TK version is called) had his hierophant and the lord in it which i managed to combo charge on 2 flanks with WR and WD's which butchered half the unit and broke ranks, the lord did still do a couple of kills but I easily won by about 8 so he lost alot more. With only turn 6 left I was pretty much banking on my Wardancer Noble who just charged in to be able to killing blow his lord, which finally I got some luck on my side (Im not the luckiest person...) and got one KB which he failed to save and wiped the last 4 models. A close game and my opponent put up a very good fight with a hard army to use.
15/5 Win to me.
Game 6
Me VS Mark Skilton (Beasts of Chaos)
This was my first game against Beasts, and it was a pure khorne minator list lead by a single doom bull, not knowing much about the army didnt help me either. He screens his minators with his dogs so I moved infront of them with my combat units figuring I'd easily take a charge of 5 dogs with say wardancers using the 4+ ward and odds are I should kill them all your break them, well luck had seemed to completely abandon me at this point, and I couldnt make any decent dice rolls to save my life. The only thing that was really working for me was my shooting, which was wiping out a few minators each turn. It was a very quick game given my opponent had no shooting or magic. Personally I dont think I should of won this game and honestly I dont really know how I did, but I beleive it all came down to my one lone wild rider with the warbanner running down his minator unit with the doombull.
12/8 Win for me.
So overall not too bad a result, I would of really liked to of made 60 battle points, but 57 is very close and is now by best result for a WFM tourny now, and 3 wins is the most ive gotten in a tourney now too. Though that game with Phil really should of been a draw, i mean c'mon its 2 VPs
So in the end I came 60th in the overall scoring on a score of 111.5 which is essentially the middle of the pack. I also didnt get any comp hits which was what I was hoping for.
Anyway I had a very good time. Im hoping Phil might do a report on his games
